Cancelled – Winter meeting – Keyna Binteliffe – anaphylactic treatment
Keyna works in the adult allergy team at Guy’s Hospital. She will given us an overview of bee and wasp anaphylactic treatment.
The NHS website describes anaphylaxis as “a severe and potentially life-threatening reaction to a trigger such as an allergy.” Some beekeepers develop severe reactions to bee stings, and the treatment carried out in Keyna’s unit can allow them to continue keeping bees.
